BSc. (Kin), C. Ped Tech (C), C. Ped (C), co-founder

Keely Porter is Shift’s friendly and professional Canadian Certified Pedorthist. She graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2011. Keely began working in pedorthics while completing her degree, and has enjoyed a 15 year career excelling in the field. She is well-versed in pedorthic issues from the common to the complex. She not only assesses for orthotics but also manufactures them herself in her in-clinic lab.

Keely takes great joy in working with her patients. She always takes the time to listen, and aims to work with her patients to help them find the right solutions for them.

In her free time, Keely enjoys walking with her dogs, cycling, restoring vintage motorcycles and mopeds, and gardening.

Kirsten
macdonald

administrator, lab tech, co-founder

Kirsten MacDonald is Shift's "Jill-of-all-trades", taking care of all the non-pedorthic aspects of Shift.

Kirsten has a BA and MA in Philosophy, and is two dissertation chapters shy of a PhD in Philosophy with a focus on healthcare ethics. After 10 years as a professional craft beer brewer, she decided it was time to return to her roots in a healthcare-related field. She is thrilled to be involved in so many ways in Shift, and truly enjoys working with and helping our wonderful patients.

When she is not at Shift, Kirsten can usually be found woodworking, walking, or cycling. She did the MS Bike Ride in 2023 and looks forward to participating annually and raising funds for such an important cause that is close to her heart.

lab supervisors and

part-time greeters

Yuki, Trooper, and Dora are Shift's fabrication laboratory supervisors. The lads are both retired racing greyhounds. Dora, the little orange girl, is a retired hunting Podenco Canario. They are a happy, friendly crew who are more than happy to say "hi" to anyone who wishes.

If you're not a dog person, don't worry - they spend their time napping in the back until their presence is requested.
